Amazing
Ed White 105.003-63 Omega Speedmaster
with the extremely rare period original
decimal bezel
Here we have the
vintage Speedmaster of vintage speedmasters
, what a watch
I got this "barn
find" in its untouched
original state where you could see
it had been in a drawer for decades
untouched, it was on a military
thread through leather strap which
had dried out and was like cardboard,
but the watch was amazingly crisp
and unpolished and not been "done
up" like most ,although the
watch looked like it hadnt been
used for a long time it was in full
working order and remarkably accurate
, the only thing was the hour recorder
subdial of the chronograph was a
little bit lazy to reset to zero
which is quite normal for chronographs
which have not been serviced for
a long time as the oil goes gummy
with age , so after thinking about
just leaving it as is for some time
I decided to send it to the great
guys at Swiss Time services
who are an Omega certified service
center and are used to dealing with
vintage watches to get it
serviced with the explicit instructions
just to service the watch only and
not repolish it or change any components
just service the movement and replace
the case back gasket which they
did beautifully they also changed
the acrylic glass with an omega
oem one (original glass returned
which was badly marked) which cost
us just under £700 to get done ,
as such the watch is working perfectly
and now comes with a 2 year guarantee
from Swiss time Services who with
being an Omega certified service
center you know its been done correctly
, the watch comes with the service
paperwork and receipts from Swiss
time.right lets get down to the
watch
Here
we have a very rare 105.003-63 "Ed
White" Omega Speedmaster watch
which would have been supplied around late
1966, quite late for one of these,
I wonder if this is one omega just
had around when somebody asked for
a decimal bezel one ,The omega 105.003 with case
back date stamps -63 -64 and -65
were all still being released by omega
right up till 1969 showing the delays which supply, demand, delays in manufacturing, shipping and the sales could have.
This particular example has the
rarely seen scientific decimal
bezel which breaks down a single
minute into 100 parts rather than
the typical 60 and these were
used by engineers , scientists and
was only available by request as
an option and not supplied on shop
watches or in the catalogues and
very rarely seen and the
one on this is a correct 1960s period
one and not a later service one
which you sometimes see and even
they are still quite desirable but
the original 1960s ones like this
are extremely rare and you never
see them listed for sale which just
makes this great watch even greater,
this watch has a great condition
stepped dial all original, superb
sharp unpolished case which has
scratches etc with age but all the
edges are still sharp whereas most
have been polished up which rounds
things off, also if you look at
the below pictures of the case back
you can see the shadow of where
the thread through military strap
has rubbed against the case back
where it has been on for years ,
amazing , correct winding crown
etc, it comes with its period Omega
box with outer card box.
The
reference 105.003-63 which this
is is the actual reference which
was worn by Ed White and was the
reference used in fact for all the
gemini missions I believe, in fact
Ed wore 2 of these accordingly with
different times Houston time time
and space time or maybe he
had 2 in case one packed in when
he was out and about in space :)

steel bracelet watch is great original
condition and still has its original
frosted finish most have been polished
up , on its original period Heuer
bracelet , this watch is a midi
sized one , Techniques d'Avant Garde (TAG) acquired the Heuer
watch company in 1985.
so this was one of the last Heuer
watches sold before the brand became
TAG Heuer

Fabulous very crisp and original
Rolex Oyster Speedking dating from
1949 model no.5056, this is a watch
we sold around 15 years ago and
were glad to take it back in part
exchange for another watch we had
and we originally bought it from
the original owner who bought it
from Hancocks in Manchester in 1951
and when we sold it 15 years ago
we sold it with the original hand
written receipt from hancocks the
cost then was 20 odd pounds unfortunately
in the 15 years the past keeper
has had it this receipt has gone
adrift which was a shame. This unlike
most Rolex of this age hasn't been
"done up" polished up
or messed with , it's a real find
really even has the very desirable
dome top Oyster patent winding crown
which are very desirable, original
everything this apart from a new
strap , please note these
are quite a small watch up to most
nowadays but until the mid 1950s
gents watches were quite small

black , the watch is untouched and
virtually unused , I havent cleaned
it or anything even still has its
original clear sticker still on
case back from new , now very in
again due to the rerelease of these

are kind of a midi size watch
, very cool and the new ones are
£2000 ish so this at £695 which
is the original and not a re edition
